do.jo ("we," "us," or "our") operates the do.jo mobile application and website at dojo.expert (the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and password. If you create an applicant account, we also collect your location and any resume you choose to upload.
Certification and progress data: We track which certification paths you start, which lessons you complete, your quiz scores, and the belt levels you've earned.
Employer information: If you create an employer account, we collect your company name, industry, billing details, and the contact information of candidates you choose to reach out to.
Payment information: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers. We receive only the last four digits, card brand, and billing email from Stripe to confirm your subscription.
Device and usage data: We collect standard log information including IP address, device type, operating system, and timestamps of your activity. This helps us debug and improve the Service.
With employers: If you are an applicant, employers can view your profile (name, belt level, certifications, quiz scores, location) in our candidate directory. Employers can only access your phone number, email, or resume after they explicitly "Reach Out" to you, which uses one of their credits.
With service providers: We share data with Supabase (database hosting), Stripe (payment processing), Vercel (web hosting), OpenAI (AI tutor and recruiter features), and Resend (email delivery). These providers act on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy practices.
For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of do.jo, our users, or the public.
We do not sell your personal data.
do.jo uses OpenAI to power the AI sensei (tutor) and AI recruiter features. When you interact with these features, your messages and the relevant context (such as the lesson you're on or your job description) are sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI does not use this data to train their models, per their API data usage policy.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

do.jo is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption in transit, encrypted database storage, and row-level security policies to protect your data. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.
do.jo is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
